The First Leg

My Posse
So here begins the "Installation Summer".... This summer I will be residing at Fort Hays State University to do a 3 week intensive Art Installation Semester with Linda Ganstrom.

In order for this to happen, I had to coordinate a few details first. What to do with my kids???

Here is the first leg of my journey.

Today I drove 6 hours to the Florida Panhandle to deliver my girls to my parents. Here they will enjoy the week of 4th of July where I have spent the last 34 July 4ths! It's a magical stretch of beach and I will get to savor a full day floating and Paddle boarding in the Gulf of Mexico before I hop on a 5am flight for Wichita, Kansas and then drive 3 additional hours to get to Hays, Kansas to begin my summer adventure. So I leave with this parting shot of the glorious ocean and hope you follow my art journey.

He drove us to Cape Canaveral when I was 11 to see the Challenger lift off. We camped in the backyard for my sweet 16 to party with Halleys Comet. My Art school Final critiques took place during an eclipse and my teachers said they wouldn't expect anything less. My sister and I observed our small existence in the Grand Canyon as we star-bathed under the glorious milk way.  My children and I get up in the middle of the night and stand in the driveway to “ooh a
